National Security Inspectorate (NSI)

Please see ITN’s Natasha Kaplinsky’s report on how contracting an NSI company provides reassurance – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W71cIWcroWw

The NSI has a two tier development model – Silver and Gold – to encourage the improvement of standards. Silver refers to ‘Product Certification’ against sector specific standards, i.e. BS 7858:2015, BS 7944:2013.

Gold builds on Silver’s Product Certification to incorporate ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management accreditation. The combination of Quality Management, and the relevant sector specific product or service represents the Gold standard of certification. This level holds the greatest perceived value across industry and by the police, fire and rescue services, and insurers.

ESG Security have NSI Guarding Gold standard accreditation, in accordance with the requirements of:

  • BS 7499:2013 Code of Practice for Static Site Guarding and Mobile Patrol Service.
  • BS 7960: 2016 Code of Practice for Door Supervisors.
  • BS 7958:2015 Code of Practice for Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) Management and Operation.
  • BS 7984:2016 Code of Practice for Keyholding and Alarm Response Services.
  • BS 7858:2012 Security Screening of Individuals Employed in a Security Environment.

The National Security Inspectorate (NSI) is an independent non-profit approvals body, and a thoroughly independent organisation. The NSI’s Guarding Gold standard is widely respected, and seen as the highest mark of distinction in security. The standard is only available to the few companies who meet the organisations standards.

Part of the reason why the NSI’s Guarding Gold standard is so revered is that it encompasses the ISO 9001:2008 Quality Standard. The NSI is the leading certification body for the security industry in the UK, and therefore is the most robust partner to work with, in achieving the industry specific, ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management accreditation.

ESG Security is inspected every six months by professional NSI auditors. This consists of visits to our offices and random visits to three customer sites, to assure our clients of a high level of service. Guarding Gold companies must consistently demonstrate a long track record of performance, reliability, and stability.
