This status reflects our alignment with national standards of governance, public protection and operational accountability.

  • ISO 9001
  • ISO 14001
  • SafeContractor
  • Living Wage Foundation Recognised Service Provider
  • SSAIB

Collectively, these accreditations demonstrate our alignment with broader government expectations on ethical procurement, environmental stewardship and workforce welfare.

Career

What is the minimum requirement for a job applicant? caret-down

Frontline applicants must hold a valid SIA licence, ensuring they meet the statutory threshold for competence and eligibility. In addition, candidates are expected to demonstrate:

  • Suitability for BS 7858 security screening
  • Strong communication and public‑facing skills
  • Professional conduct consistent with public‑service expectations
  • A willingness to undertake training aligned with site‑specific risk profiles

This approach supports a workforce that is both compliant and capable of representing the organisation in public‑facing environments.

Are ESG Security staff vetted to BS 7858? caret-down

Yes. We apply BS 7858:2019 as the baseline for personnel screening. This standard is widely recognised across government and regulated sectors as the appropriate mechanism for safeguarding public trust, ensuring identity verification, employment history checks, right‑to‑work compliance, and criminality screening.

What can security staff do and not do? caret-down

None of our licensed security staff have the same powers as the Police, but they can perform a citizen’s arrest; refuse entry to premises and perform body searches/check belongings where necessary. It is illegal for security staff to carry weapons such as firearms, tasers or batons.

Technology

Does ESG Security use a guard tour patrol system? caret-down

Yes. We use a digital patrol verification system, including GPS‑enabled proof‑of‑presence technology. This supports transparent reporting, strengthens auditability, and aligns with the wider public‑sector expectation for evidence‑based service delivery and real‑time operational oversight.
