Helping People as an SIA Licence Holder

As an SIA licence holder, you play a vital role in protecting the public, especially if you’re working as a door supervisor in clubs and bars. This is a reminder of the training you’ve received to help you identify and support people in vulnerable situations. Your awareness can help prevent predatory behaviour, spiking and sexual assault.
If you have concerns about someone’s safety, there are several things you can do:
Report your concerns to your supervisor or venue management
Get help from street pastors or street marshals
Use safety schemes like Ask Angela
Contact a relative
Call a licensed taxi to get them home safely
Use safe havens (e.g. St John Ambulance)
Ask a colleague for support – don’t deal with it alone
Call the police if necessary
Challenge Unacceptable Behaviour
If you see it, report it. Your actions can make a real difference.
Thank you for your continued professionalism and commitment to public safety.
