New Security Buyers Charter 1 July 2026

The SIA’s Buyers’ Special Interest Group has introduced a new Security Buyer’s Charter, designed to raise standards in the procurement of private security services. The Charter provides a structured framework that helps organisations procure security in a way that is transparent, responsible and aligned with expectations of professionalism and compliance. It has been shaped by experienced individuals involved with security purchasing decisions. The Charter aims to address long‑standing challenges in the UK security market – including inconsistent procurement practice, downward price pressure, and the resulting impact on workforce conditions and service quality.
