Case Study: Car Park Barrier – biometric 2 November 2021

Solihull’s branch of The Royal British Legion occupies a prime town centre location. The premises required an efficient and reliable system to create the best impression for members and to eliminate unauthorised access. The Legion decided to upgrade its existing car park barrier for improved site management.

ESG Security supplied and installed the new automatic barrier with a bottom skirt, for enhanced security. The skirt folds as the barrier rises and lowers. Access is controlled by a biometric fingerprint scanner. The scanner reads the biometric information and sends it to the access control panel in the same way as a standard card reader. The print can then be checked centrally for access rights so that the vehicle can be granted or denied accordingly.
