As a business owner, protecting your premises is naturally important to you. At the same time you don’t want to be disturbed at inappropriate moments. That’s why all businesses can benefit from the services of a key holding company. As your nominated key holders we support the protection of your premises 24/7 by acting as the initial point of contact for emergencies. Here is the best practice approach to key holding and protecting your premises.
What is key holding?
You may have seen the phrase ‘key holding’ mentioned in several of our articles. Key holding is essentially where we hold a set of keys to your premises. It’s an essential service for many businesses because it’s not always possible to deal with all the property issues of your building.
It’s the responsibility of a licenced Security Industry Authority (SIA) officer to lock and unlock (including the alarm) your property at arranged times, provide access for those who need it and making sure it’s safe and secure upon leaving.
Alarm response
Alarm response is usually a bolt on service of key holding. The alarm response part of the service is in case of an alarm activation or emergency. Should you require alarm response, a uniformed security officer will arrive on-site in an official company vehicle within 20 minutes.
The officer will patrol inside and out of the premises, and will thoroughly investigate any areas of concern. If there has been an intrusion the officer will know exactly what to do and will not put themselves at risk. They will co-ordinate with the police and not leave your premises until it’s re-secured.
