The Security Industry Authority (SIA) recently published an updated guidance document for buyers of security. The SIA said the purpose of the revised document was to help prospective purchasers, identify security roles which may require a licence under the Private Security Industry Act 2001 (PSIA). The document includes a checklist that can be used to select a security provider.
A statement from the SIA read: “It’s important to understand what makes someone licensable. This will help you make sure you have the right person in the right role at the right time. This is only intended to be used as general guidance. It is not a substitute for the complete definition of licensable activity within the PSIA 2001.”
